When it comes to your online presence, there's no such thing as too much data security. So in order to ensure that your data is as secure as it can possibly be, you have the option to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your Simplecast account. Two-Factor Authentication is an important security measure that adds a second layer of protection in addition to your password.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

  • Click on the GEAR ICON in the dropdown menu in the upper righthand corner of your Simplecast dashboard.

  • Scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section, and toggle the switch to ENABLE Two-Factor Authentication

  • Enter your account password and click SUBMIT.

πŸ“Œ This is to prevent anyone from enabling 2FA on your behalf, and locking you out of your account.

  • From there, you'll need to either scan the QR code that appears using your Two-Factor Authentication app of choice, or manually copy and paste the AUTHENTICATOR SECRET CODE from your Simplecast dashboard into that app.

  • Once you've connected your preferred Authentication app, you'll be provided with an Authentication Code which you'll paste into the AUTHENTICATION CODE field in your Simplecast dashboard.

  • After you've authenticated, you'll be provided with 10 backup codes, which you'll use to access your account if your authenticator app is ever unavailable.

πŸ“Œ Be sure to save these backup codes some place secure. You should never store these codes on their computer. Many authenticator apps will provide you space to store them safely. If you lose your codes, but are still logged into your account, you can regenerate your 10 codes at any time.

Disabling Two-Factor Authentication

If you ever need to remove Two-Factor Authentication from your account, you can follow the same basic steps:

  • Click on the GEAR ICON in the dropdown menu in the upper righthand corner of your Simplecast dashboard.

  • Scroll down to the Two-Factor Authentication section, and toggle the switch to DISABLE Two-Factor Authentication
