Hide RSS from Search Engines

Many podcasters need to deliver a secure podcast RSS feed directly to their listeners, without their feed being made searchable online or available on public directories.

Simplecast allows you to discourage search engines from indexing your RSS feed by simply enabling our "Hide RSS from search engines" feature found in the Advanced Settings under Show Distribution Settings and then selecting SAVE in the top right corner.

Some search engine web crawlers might interpret the implementation of this feature differently. As a result, it is possible that your feed might still appear in results from some search engines.

You can select Turn off the Podcast RSS Feed for extra measure. When choosing that option, you will not be able to submit your RSS feed to Apple Podcasts or other podcast directories.

If you would like to read more on this subject visit Google's documentation article, Block search indexing with 'noindex'.
