To test and verify your RSS feed is functioning properly and does not include any non-ASCII characters, you can easily run your new Simplecast RSS Feed URL through a number of feed validators.

How to Validate Your RSS Feed

First, copy your full RSS feed URL from the DISTRIBUTION section of your dashboard:

  1. Click on the GEAR ICON in the upper lefthand corner dropdown menu

  2. Select DISTRIBUTION from the lefthand side menu

  3. Click the COPY button located next to your RSS feed URL

Validating RSS Feed on Apple Podcasts

If you plan on publishing your show to Apple Podcasts, Apple provides a RSS verification process to the steps of adding a new show. You can see more in their help center under Validate a Podcast.

Podcast Validators

For non-Apple solutions, you can find an open source feed validator online at

📌 Note about Podbase: it is common that this validator flags podcast artwork indicating the file size is larger than recommended. For a healthy RSS feed, we recommend keeping the artwork file size (for both show and episodic) under 512 KB.

If you need help downsizing your podcast artwork consider using this free service TinyPNG/TinyJPG.
