Think about the three note chime of NBC, the television static before an HBO show, or the punchy sound that plays when the Netflix app is opened. These are known as "stings" or "sounders," and they serve to identify the branding of their respective networks in the ears of their audience.
Intro/Outro is a tool that allows you to add an audio sting to the start and/or end of your podcast episodes, helping to establish brand familiarity and enhance the listening experience of your audience. This may be a short jingle, a branded message (“You’re listening to the Such-and-Such Podcast Network”), or any other audio content you may want to include.
Setting Up Intro/Outro
1. Click on the GEAR ICON in the upper lefthand corner dropdown menu:
2. Select INTRO AND OUTRO from the lefthand side menu.
3. Click on BROWSE to select your Intro audio file, or drag the file directly into the INTRO AUDIO section in order to upload.
4. Using the INTRO POSITION dropdown menu, select whether you'd like the audio file to play at the start of the episode before any pre-roll ads or after any pre-roll ads.
💡 Note: You can enable the intro audio by default to all future episodes by clicking the checkbox below that dropdown menu.
5. Similarly, in the OUTRO AUDIO section, click on BROWSE to select your Outro audio file, or drag the file directly into that section in order to upload.
6. Using the OUTRO POSITION dropdown menu, select whether you'd like the audio file to play at the end of the episode before any post-roll ads or after any post-roll ads.
You can enable the outro audio by default to all future episodes by clicking the checkbox below that dropdown menu.
7. Once you've uploaded the audio file(s), click the SAVE button in the upper righthand corner.
8. When you click SAVE, you'll be given the option for both the Intro and Outro sections to apply the uploaded audio to all existing episodes.
💡 Note: Once the audio file(s) have been uploaded, you can also manually enable or disable the Intro and Outro at the episode level on the EPISODE EDIT page.
