For many podcasts, each and every episode includes much of the same information in their episode notes. For example, perhaps the show is produced, edited, and mixed by the same team members. Or, maybe the creators of the show's artwork or theme music are credited. Many shows choose to include hyperlinks to their social media profiles or membership sites.
With Simplecast Episode Footers, you can manage that information across all episodes at once without having to retype it in each individual episode's notes. This becomes especially useful when you need to make a change to that information (e.g. you change a social media handle, and need to modify the hyperlink across all episodes). And the best part is, it couldn't be easier to use!
How to Add Your Episode Footer
1. Click on the GEAR ICON in the upper righthand corner dropdown menu to access the SHOW SETTINGS page of your dashboard.
2. Scroll down to the EPISODE NOTES FOOTER section.
3. Add and format any text that you'd like to appear at the bottom of your episode notes.
💡 Note: This text will appear on every episode in your RSS feed.
4. Click SAVE in the upper righthand corner.
💡 Note: If the text you've added, or some portion of it, already appears in your Episode Notes, you will need to manually remove it from each episode individually, so as to avoid including duplicate text within your Episode Notes.
How to Edit Your Episode Footer
There are a couple of ways to edit your Episode Footer. You can follow the steps in the section above and simply modify the existing text, or modify the footer from within any particular episode.
When adding an episode, you'll see the Episode Footer text in the section beneath your EPISODE NOTES. If there is something you'd like to change about how this text appears, you can simply click on the EDIT button in that section, and make any changes you'd like.
💡 Note: The changes you make to the footer will not be unique to the episode you're editing. They will be reflected across every episode of your RSS feed, just as if you'd modified them within the SHOW SETTINGS page of your dashboard.
